Kemil Bekteši (1997, Belgrade) graduated from the High School of Applied Arts in Sarajevo, at the Department of Painting. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo in Painting. He spent one semester of his studies in Portugal, where he studied contemporary art in the class of prof. Domingos Loureira at the Academy in Porto. After completing his bachelor’s studies in 2020, he enrolled in a master’s degree in Painting, which he completed in 2021. In 2020 he became the youngest finalist for the BELL Award (YVAA, Young Artist Visual Award). In his multimedia approach to the artwork – through the media of painting, sculptures, installations – he questions the social problems of the Balkans. He is one of the founders of Manifesto Gallery of Contemporary Art in Sarajevo. He is active on the BH and regional scene.
