Summer vibes
Radiant sun, vivid colours, sandy beaches, seaside, waves splashing against the shore and feeling of sublime joy are only some of the associations that bring summer to mind. No other season tolerates such fondness for cliches as summer does, and its enchanting atmosphere has always been inspirational to artists.
As we drift deeper into the summer, we present you the selection of interesting artworks by six artists, emanating summer charms.
The artworks by Selena Vicković, Mario Kolarić, Emilija Radojčić, Marija Avramović, Mišo Filipovac and Bratislav Milenković search for no conventional aesthetics and often find a new sort of rebellious beauty. This beauty dares to reveal the grotesque of pictorial art, while telling no difference between the digital and „real“, and giving away the enjoyable beauty of the imaginative as well as popular.
Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate:
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer’s lease hath all too short a date>
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And often is his gold complexion dimm’d;
And every fair form fair sometime decline,
By chance, or nature’s changing course, untrimm’d;
But thy eternal summer shall not fade
Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow’st;
Nor shall Death brag thou wander’st in his shade,
When in eternal lines to time thou grow’st<
So long as men can breathe or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.
Sonnet 18
William Shakespeare.
